Brisbane, 11 November 2020 – Airbus Australia Pacific celebrates its Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), coinciding with Australia’s NAIDOC week celebrations.

The RAP affirms Airbus’ commitment to creating and enhancing meaningful and respectful relationships with Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ businesses and communities.

“The strength of Airbus in Australia Pacific is supported by the deep connections we have with our local communities and industry partners. The launch of our first Reconciliation Action Plan solidifies our good intentions into innovative and sustainable actions.

“Our team recognises the importance of cultural awareness and respect for cultural identity. The RAP fosters strong leadership and knowledge on Indigenous topics, ensuring new and existing employees, customers and partners understand and respect our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander commitments in Australia. It also provides a culturally safe working environment for all of our employees across our numerous Australian sites,” said Andrew Mathewson, Managing Director, Airbus Australia Pacific.

The Airbus RAP coincides with NAIDOC Week 2020, a time when all Australians celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

“As Airbus’ Indigenous Advisor, I am proud to support Airbus on their journey to launching their 2020 Reconciliation Action Plan. Airbus is focussing its efforts on supply chain diversity and positively working with Indigenous-owned businesses and communities. Already, Airbus’ global position in the aerospace industry is providing real opportunities for Indigenous Australian businesses and communities,” said Mr Murray Saylor, Managing Director Tagai Management Consultants.
