Coca Cola Amatil aims to increase investment in its human resource – this is being done through targeted interventions this year. Among them, the first being the launching of the Amatil’s Supply Chain Academy earlier this year focusing on technical skills, quality and lean manufacturing.

In addition, CCA’s Sales Academy was launched this morning, focusing on helping the sales team drive sales and have commercial conversation with customers. Present to officiate was Finance Minister, Reinbo Paita, Coco Cola Amatil’s Regional Managing Director, Kadir Gunduz and the PNG Amatil General Manager, Philippe Mondada.

With training being an important component of team enthusiasm, the sales team is considered a core function and takes precedence in the daily running of any business or organisation. Believing in its capabilities and its human resource- the people; over 300 Coca Cola Amatil sales representatives will pioneer the Sales Academy program.

“Sales are our front liners; the one who are in trenches everyday facing challenges of everyday customers.” Says Kadir Gunduz – CCA Regional MD.

That sentiment, similarly expressed by CCA PNG GM Philippe Mondada “This is a new chapter in our approach to full fill our duties in trdae and with added value. We appreciate the support in educational investment. We believe that we have to give back to the country by investing in building capabilities in our people for sustainable future.”

Coca Cola Amatil added that it will continue to invest in its human resource and infrastructure in the country.

Officiating in his first appearance as Finance Minister, Renbo Paita says the Government stands ready to support public-private partnerships and Coca Cola has seen through numerous contributions through this partnership in education, health and sports.

“CCA has made numerous contributions; not just in in the space of investing in the company but also participating in Public-Private Partnership programs. The company invested in programs such as economic activities for mothers, TB health programs and programs such as the recently hosted South Pacific Games.”

“Despite the country being faced with the dilemma of budget constraints; the Government appreciates Coca Cola’s investments in the country.” Renbo Paita stated.

“The most important in any organisation is the people. As the Government, that is queue we are taking now. The most important we can make as a responsible Government is to invest in people. Infrastructure and utilities will be secondary. And especially when the beverage which has also over a period of time been engrained into the many diverse traditional celebrations throughout the country.”

Finance Minister Paita finally stated: “Coke has been an iconic brand in PNG. It has been entrenched into our cultures as well. In some places, there is no peace making without a bottle of coke being shared among groups of people.”
