In his recent visit to Enga Province, Governor-General, Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae, praised the province for preserving its culture and traditions at their museum.

The Take Anda or ‘House of Values’ displays its cultures, traditions, artifacts, and photographs dating back thousands of years.

The Governor-General was impressed with the traditional way of life of the Enga people, which are told through the displays of artifacts, preserved human remains, proverbs, and sayings.

These are the values that guide its people to have respect for others, which has shaped Enga people to be kind-hearted, generous, but tough and fierce.

’’This reflects the people’s desire to keep their culture alive and to educate future generations of the good values and wisdom to help ones living and I’m proud to know that Enga is doing it”

– Governor General Sir Bob Dadae

Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae remarked that even though Papua New Guineans have negative perception of Enga Province due to tribal fights and people’s mentality, he was pleased to see the province progressing in development, with the focus on developing its human resources, health and education.

Enga provincial government through the leadership of Governor, Sir Peter Ipatas will still invest in education as a tool to stop the tribal fights and bring services.

Schools in the province started culture education in 2017. School students are being taught about the traditional history of the people of Enga, and its values to be independent, respectful, sharing, kind, and to hold strong all the good values of life.
