We know you’ll earn money during your apprenticeship or traineeship and this can affect how much you get from us. You must report any money you get from your employer. This includes if you’re getting JobKeeper payment from your employer.

So we pay you the right amount, you must report your income to us every fortnight. If you don’t, we may:

  • stop your payment
  • pay you too much and you’ll end up owing money that you’ll need to pay back.

Keep track of what you’re earning to make your reporting easier. You can use an earnings worksheet form or the Employment Diary in your Centrelink online account.

If you’re an ABSTUDY apprentice you may be able to get Incidentals Allowance. You will still get it if your income is too high to get ABSTUDY each fortnight.

Learn more about:

Call our Centrelink reporting line if you’re having trouble with your online account.
