Lawyer, 81-year-old arraigned in court together with his 53-year-old lawyer son for stealing

81-year-old Lawyer, Matiu Laogun and his 53-year-old son, Ayodele Adelaja Laogun were arraigned before the Osun State High Court in Osogbo today for stealing and false pretence.

The prosecutor, S.O Ayodele told the court that the accused persons committed the offence sometimes in the October, 2010.

He told the court that the accused persons conspired together to obtain a sum of N1 million from one Dr. Gbadebo Bukola under false pretence.

The prosecutor stated that the offence committed by the accused persons was in contrary to Section 8, 1(a) (b) and (2) and punishable Under Section 1(3) of the Advance Free Fraud and other related offences act, Cap A6, volume 1, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2006.

The accused pleaded not guilty. The defense counsel, S.B Ajibade pray to court to grant them bail of on self recognizance.

The Judge, W.O Akanbi released the accused persons on bail on self recognizance and adjourned the case to 20th of February, 2020.
