She has done it again.
Barbados’ Squash sensation Meagan Best has topped the charts among international boarding school students in the USA by being named to the All-American Squash list for the second year running.

Best, 18, is among five persons on that elite list.

She is a senior at Choate Rosemary Hall in Connecticut and has played unbeaten so far this year in a season shortened by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the 2019 completed season in the Americas and the Caribbean, she joined with fellow Barbadian, Khamal Cumberbatch, for an upset mixed doubles title victory at the Mayfair Lakeshore Racquet Club in Canada.

In another excellent doubles display, she hooked up with Barbadian compatriot, Amanda Haywood, take gold in the women’s doubles at the Caribbean Squash tournament in Guyana.

At that same tournament in Guyana she challenged her seniors for gold in the singles but had to settle for silver.

Best walked away with another silver last year, this time in the US Junior Under-19 Open competition.

“I am grateful and indeed honoured to receive my second consecutive All-American recognition, said best, and added, “when I started high school at Choate Rosemary Hall, I never dreamt that I would have been recognised in such a distinguished way, and not only once, but twice”.

“The experience of being a member of the Choate athletic programme over the past two years has been an exceptional one and I truly enjoyed the camaraderie among our squash team, as we supported each other during the ups and downs of our journey together.”
