The winner of the Miss Louisiana 2020 Pageant, Mariah Clayton, was recently spotted in NYC! The 23-year-old beauty queen from Zachary, Louisiana is a graduate student at Southeastern University studying to become a professional school counselor. Graduating magna cum laude from Southern University, Mariah was team captain for SU’s Division I volleyball team.

She serves as volleyball coach for middle school girls mentoring them on the fundamentals of volleyball and life. When not coaching or studying, Mariah has a YouTube channel that strives to empower young women to be their best selves by embracing their natural beauty through self-definition.

Mariah prepares now for Spring’s Miss USA 2020 Pageant where 51 beauties will compete to represent the USA in the Miss Universe pageant to follow. Mariah had a chance to spend some time with her cousin — 125th Street Business Improvement District’s President and CEO Barbara Askins. Barbara was honored as one of Schneps Media’s “NY Power Women” in 2019.
