Humacao, Puerto Rico — Amid its 25th anniversary celebration and after overcoming the significant impact of hurricanes Irma and María, Plaza Palma Real shopping center has again become the retail epicenter of Humacao and the eastern part of Puerto Rico with its official reopening with more stores and entertainment.
After an ambitious restructuring that entailed an investment of over $20 million by Retail Value Inc. (RVI), Humacao residents, visitors and tenants will be able to enjoy a renovated shopping center. The facility promises to accommodate a range of commercial offerings for consumers, with more than 50 stores available by the end of 2020.
“Plaza Palma Real is key to the commercial activity of Humacao and eastern Puerto Rico. In addition, it is part of the economic development history of the region. For that reason, we have made all the efforts and investment necessary to rebuild the center and restore the enthusiasm and commercial activity. We have not rested to bring new offers and to respond to the requests of the citizens who are very faithful to Plaza Palma Real,” said Francis Xavier González, vice president of Retail Value Inc. (RVI), which, in addition to Plaza Palma Real, manages another 11 shopping centers across the island.

Among restorations done to the shopping center area, which has over 2,000 parking spots, LED lighting systems, signage and improvements at the access points around the entire facility were made. This assures a comfortable and safe experience for its visitors. In addition, consumers will have new retail service offers, specialized services and entertainment. In keeping with the avant-garde buying and selling trends, some of the shops offer online shopping options with store pick-up, among others.
The range of store offerings in the mall includes: Me Salvé, Kress, Walmart, Marshall’s, Chili’s, Van Heusen, Pep Boys, Bakers, T-Mobile, Novus, Ponderosa, Rainbow, 5.7.9, Marianne, GNC, Kokomo, Eye Center Boutique, Banco Santander and Bath & Body Works, among others that will soon open.
