TT has it’s first new positive covid19 case since April 26, the Government announced on Saturday evening.
The case is an imported one from among three people who were in quarantine after returning to Trinidad on May 28.
Minister of Communications Donna Cox in an online post reported: “One positive case of covid. This is an imported case from a family of three persons who recently came into the country.”
In the 4 pm update, the Ministry of Health had no new information about the case. It reported that the positive cases stood at 116, with eight deaths and 108 recoveries. However, the number of samples sent to the Caribbean Public Health Agency was 3,138.
The report of the new case comes as the Prime Minister announced that public servants are to return to work on Monday, and that retail stores and malls will reopen but with a closing hour of 6 pm. He also said NLCB Lotto services will resume.
